the benefits of beets

Our nutritionist Jess loves beets because they are full of benefits and easy to incorporate into your favorite recipes. Beets are rich in antioxidants and fiber – did you know they have even more fiber than oats? (Beets for the win!)

Another benefit of beets? They are full of natural nutrients like manganese which helps your body release energy. Beets are also a great source of potassium which is important to help regulate blood pressure.

Jess eats beets all the time and loves eating them in all forms – raw, roasted, steamed, pickled and sliced! She eats them in salads, smoothies and even her desserts!

Not sure how to prepare beets to enjoy their benefits on a regular basis? Jess is sharing her top 5 tips for cooking beets and make them actually taste good!

“Beets are an acquired taste – they can be bitter, earthy and strong for most people. If you’re new to beets, try enjoying them roasted as the bitter/earthy flavors will go away because the roasting process brings out their sweetness!” -Jess, graze nutritionist
