what could grazing do for you?
blood sugar?
You may have noticed that we talk about blood sugar a lot.
This is no accident — it's the key to most of the benefits of grazing and healthy eating in general. If you can give your body energy when it needs it, then you can perform at your best throughout the day. Whether that's a few more minutes on the treadmill, getting a bit more done at work, making you more efficient at burning fat or just feeling better within yourself — blood sugar really is the key.
If you can keep your blood sugar within the 'good graze energy' band on the graph you will feel much better than if you are experiencing the ups and downs of the blood sugar roller coaster.
Here are our top tips to help keep blood sugar within the green zone:
- never skip breakfast — it really is the most important meal of the day
- eat natural (unrefined) foods
- drink less tea and coffee (they are stimulants that mess with your blood sugar)
- drink more water
- eat whole fruits rather than juices
- remember fibre is your friend!
- try and cut down smoking
- eat slowly — chew your food to release all that energy
- don't skip meals
